Refrigeração Calabria develops cold room projects for storage and preservation of different products, such as beverages and food. Our cold rooms have been designed taking into consideration aspects such as capacity, physical space, and type of product to be stored, as well as anticipating energy consumption. Check out our models!

What is the purpose of the Cold Room?

With models for refrigeration (temperature between 0°C and 18°C) and freezing (temperatures below 0°C), Calabria’s cold rooms come in three sizes and are assembled and tested in their own factory. In addition, they arrive ready for use by the customer, needing only to be connected to a power source.

These are equipment designed to optimize the storage of different inputs that require greater preservation, preserving their qualities and characteristics. The development of the entire project, as well as the manufacturing and assembly, is entirely carried out by Calabria, which always offers the best solutions and complies with the requirements of ISO 22.000 (Food Safety Management).

What are the models of Calabria’s Cold Room?

Cold rooms assembled and tested at Calabria’s own factory, in 3 pre-fabricated sizes, with the option to cool or freeze.

Cooling:

RC1T size, with a capacity of 8 freezers: 1.44 x 2.28 x 2.60m (external dimensions) / 1.24 x 2.08 x 2.30m (internal dimensions).

RC2T size, with a capacity of 16 freezers: 2.28 x 2.58 x 2.60m (external dimensions) / 2.08 x 2.38 x 2.30m (internal dimensions).

RC3T size, with a capacity of 24 freezers: 2.28 x 3.72 x 2.60m (external dimensions) / 2.08 x 3.52 x 2.30m (internal dimensions).

Freezing:

RC1T size, with a capacity of 8 freezers: 1.44 x 2.28 x 2.60m (external dimensions) / 1.44 x 1.98 x 2.20m (internal dimensions).

RC2T size, with a capacity of 16 freezers: 2.28 x 2.58 x 2.60m (external dimensions) / 1.98 x 2.28 x 2.20m (internal dimensions).

RC3T size, with a capacity of 24 freezers: 2.28 x 3.72 x 2.60m (external dimensions) / 1.98 x 3.42 x 2.20m (internal dimensions).

In addition to the pre-fabricated sizes, Calabria produces customized cold rooms according to your needs.

What is the energy consumption of a Cold Room?

Calabria’s cold room is economical and very safe. Its control panels facilitate the operation control, allowing for temperature adjustment, and avoid overloading the system. Check out some of the features that promote low energy consumption:

Automatic temperature and humidity control by individual electronic controller;

Individual overload and short circuit protection for motors;

Signaling of the operating system and motor overloads;

Individual motor outputs through terminals;

Metallic box cabinet in beige color;

Electric panel designed according to NBR 5410 – ABNT standard;

Protection system to prevent reactivation after a power failure, according to NR10 standard – “Safety in Electricity Services Installation.”

How is the Cold Room made?

EPS panels:

Pre-painted steel cladding in white RAL 9003 (upon request), with a smooth, micro-rib or rib 100 finish;

Finger jointed insulation core in trapezoidal shape, ensuring perfect tightness;

Width of 114 cm and length according to project needs, within transport limits;

EPS (expanded polystyrene) insulation core, free of CFC and characterized as flame retardant class F1 (according to NBR 11947 – ABNT), with minimum apparent density (MEA) of 14.5 kg/m³.

PUR panels:

Vapor barrier incorporated into the panel;

Pre-painted steel cladding in white RAL 9003, brushed AISI 304 stainless steel or aluminum;

Width of 112 cm and length according to project needs, within transport limits;

Thermal resistance of PUR at 90 °C;

PUR (polyurethane) insulation core, characterized as flame retardant class R1 (according to NBR 7358 – ABNT), with molded apparent density (MEAM) of 37 to 42 kg/m³.

Floor:

Conventional insulation with EPS (expanded polystyrene) panels, with characteristics similar to the panels’ core and with the recommended thickness, in addition to being placed in staggered layers. As for the waterproofing part (vapor barrier), the products have: asphalt primer; liquid (cold) or oxidized (hot) asphalt; aluminum film and upper protection in polyethylene film (plastic tarp); and mechanical protection of concrete with a finished cement, with the floor area fixed with pre-painted sheet metal corner profiles.

Doors:

Swing or sliding doors;

Custom sizes;

Carbon steel hardware, hot-dip galvanized and with powder epoxy paint;

Leaves and frames with pre-painted steel cladding in white RAL 9003;

Stainless steel AISI 304 screws and washers for accessory attachment;

Back doors are semi-recessed, reconciling correct tightness with external design uniformity;

EPDM rubber sealing for chambers with temperatures up to -40 °C (industrial doors) or magnetic gaskets for chambers with temperatures up to -18 °C (commercial doors);

Leaves and frames with PUR (polyurethane) injected insulation core, characterized as flame retardant class R1 with molded apparent density (MEAM) of 37 to 42 kg/m³, with a thermal conductivity coefficient below 0.023 W/(m.k).

What is the value of a Cold Room?

With 100% national manufacturing, the cold room is accredited by BNDES, BNDES Card, and the More Food Program, making it easier to acquire. However, it is not possible to define the exact value of the equipment in advance. This can only be done after an analysis by the Refrigeração Calabria team, which evaluates factors such as your establishment’s demands, the ideal model and size, as well as transportation.

When purchasing any Calabria product, you have access to specialized technical assistance and a one-year warranty for any damages or problems that may occur. Our technicians provide all the necessary assistance to adapt the cold room to your space. This way, we ensure the best performance for your industry or commerce!
